Dear
Men of 2007,
There is a big
world out there that awaits you. It is somewhat of a messy
place. There is a mix of crime and violence in our world. You
will find some hatred and intolerance, some selfishness and
jealousy, along with some ruthlessness and indifference. Our
world can be cruel and unforgiving. You will also find success
out in the world. Success in whatever way you understand it,
but no one is going to hand you success on a silver platter.
You will have to work for it; you will have to earn it. Of
course, we all hope that your years at Salesian will help you
live a full life in whatever path you choose. However, my wish
for you does not stop there. What the world needs terribly are
men with a firm set of Christian values. It is my wish that you
will take from Salesian a sense of mission to make the world a
better place. Saint John Bosco, in his simple but sound way of
saying things, wished that his boys would become ‘good
Christians and respectable citizens’. That is my wish and prayer
for you. Lastly my dear Mustangs, I trust that you will remember
always your fallen brother, Rafael Recendez. Allow Rafa to
forever live in your hearts. Allow the experiences of his life
and of his death to inspire you and to help guide you in the
becoming of beautiful persons.
May God bless
you now and always!
Your Principal,
Samuel Robles
