Dear Salesian Family,

It is an honor to serve as principal of Bishop Mora Salesian High School.

“It’s not the honor that you take with you, but the heritage you leave behind”.  Branch Rickey

The year 2008 marks a banner year in the history of our school.  In the fall of 1958, the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles joined together to open the doors at 960 S. Soto Street.  Those that came before us laid the foundation of the Salesian philosophy and instilled the components that make up a Salesian work. I am proud to say that the rich tradition and heritage of the Salesian Spirit continues to flourish.  We continue to be “a home that welcomes, a parish that evangelizes, a school that prepares youth for life, and a playground where friends meet and enjoy themselves.”   On February 1st we honor our past and embrace our future with a special mass at 10:00 am in our school gymnasium.  All are invited to share in this celebration.

I am proud to announce that many of our Mustangs have answered the challenge of allowing themselves to be powerful beyond measure.  Nearly forty percent of our students have earned placement on the first semester Honor Roll.  These students will be rewarded with a special recognition assembly and a full-day field trip.  The top ten students and their families in each grade will be invited to our annual Academic Top Ten Awards Banquet.  I offer kudos to our students, faculty and staff for making academic success our priority.

I thank you, the parents and families of our young men, for your support, your enthusiasm, and your prayers.

Your Principal

Samuel Robles
