principal of Bishop Mora Salesian High School.
“It is not
enough merely to exist. It’s not enough to say, ‘I’m
earning enough to support my family. I do my work well.
I’m a good father, husband, and church-goer.’ That’s all
very well. But you must do something more. Seek
always to do some good, somewhere.”

As we approach Advent, the
time of the year where we prepare ourselves for the coming of
the Lord, I pray that our Salesian Family not only enjoy the
many gifts that God has given but use those gifts to do some
good, somewhere.
In celebration of Advent,
Christmas, the New Year, our family and our faith, we will be
gathering in our gymnasium on Monday, December 10th
at 6:30 PM for a Family Mass. My hope is that this event
becomes an ongoing custom for our school. Classes will
begin at 2:00 PM on this day so that students will not miss a
day of school and that families can join their sons in the
evening.
For the second consecutive
year, Salesian High School has the honor of escorting the image
of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the East Los Angeles Procession on
Sunday, December 2nd. This event is the longest
running event of its kind in all of Los Angeles and brings
together thousands of people from our community to pay tribute
to the patron saint of the Americas.
In preparation of our Open
House, the Parents Club will be sponsoring a beautification day
on Sunday, December 2nd. This a great way to
put in your parent service hours and help in the upkeep of our
campus.
Semester exams will be held
on December 19, 20, and 21. These dates are extremely
important and should be respected. I remind you that
semester grades will appear on official transcripts and these
exams can be crucial to your sons’ grades. Please make
sure your sons are at school, have a good breakfast, and are
ready for their exams on these dates.
