Visual & Performing Arts

The Fine Arts Department is to complement St John Bosco’s philosophy concerning reason, kindness, and religion in the development of the whole person. The program consists of disciplines whose focus is to help students communicate intellectual and emotional responses through the creative process and help them become aesthetically literate citizens in the emerging global culture. A strong emphasis is placed on extra-curricular activities that support the visual and performing arts curriculum.

Course Descriptions

Drama

The course is designed to introduce the art of the actor through performance. Each student will discover through various processes what is entailed in the performance aspect of theater. Through pantomime, improvisation, movement, characterization, memorization, analysis of script, and an audience attended performance, the students will have the basis for an appreciation of the actor as well as a further appreciation as a theater-goer.
